This thread outlines the ownership intent for StateCraft. It serves as a foundational document to inform owner decisions, including vetoes, and provides guidance to lawmakers and players in leadership positions. While player-led governance is central, server ownership retains the responsibility of safeguarding the core vision of the network.

Our Vision
StateCraft is a parliamentary City Roleplay server with a focus on political realism, aesthetics, and community inclusion.

Our vision is to foster a dynamic, politically driven roleplay experience that balances realism and unpredictability while preserving the server’s heritage.

Preservation of Aesthetic
StateCraft places a high value on visual cohesion and realism. To preserve the original intent of the Alexandria map:

Urban Areas:
Development should remain concentrated within the City of New Hamilton. Rural urban centers (towns) are not an intended component of the map and political system.

Natural Landscape:
Mountains, rivers, and forests surrounding urban areas are integral to the world’s visual appeal. These should be preserved, as changes over time will degrade these natural features.

Preservation of Parliamentary Democracy
While players are free to develop government systems and legislation, the following principles guide the server’s democratic framework:

Integrity of Institutions:
Power should not be concentrated in any one branch, and checks and balances must be respected through responsible government, separation of judicial authority, and adherence to democratic conventions.

System of Government:
StateCraft should operate as a parliamentary democracy inspired by and resembling the Westminster model. This includes a ceremonial Head of State, a Prime Minister drawn from the elected Parliament who commands confidence, and a Cabinet collectively responsible to Parliament. Regular elections and a multi-party system are essential to ensure a government accountable to its citizens.

Intent of Roleplay:
The aim is not to simulate anarchy or technocracy, but to model a functioning parliamentary state. Reforms or decisions that fundamentally compromise this framework may be vetoed if they conflict with the network's core roleplay intent.

Zodd: /* 🚀 Getting Started */

👋 Welcome
StateCraft (SC) is a realistic, city-based Minecraft roleplay server, part of the Minecraft Cities Network. It is home to the Kingdom of Alexandria. On StateCraft, players can engage in real-life scenarios such as creating a business, getting a job, investing in real estate, or even trading in our very own stock market. Also, you can spend your hard-earned money on exciting vehicles like cars, helicopters, jets, bikes, and much more.

🚀 Getting Started
To begin your journey, you can ask a Tour Guide to help you understand the basics and show you around Alexandria. If no Tour Guide online, don’t worry! You can ask the friendly players on the server for assistance or take the time to explore the city yourself while waiting for a guide to come online. There's always something to be explored in Alexandria!

We strongly recommend joining our Discord serverand registering on our forums to stay connected and interact with other players!

NOTE: We strongly encourage you to join our Discord server and register on our forums, as they are the MAIN HUB for announcements, jobs, auctions, and much more!

Joining the Server
You can join StateCraft on both Java Edition and Bedrock Edition using the following IPs:
* Java Edition:
play.mcstatecraft.com

* Bedrock Edition:
play.mcstatecraft.com:19132

Jobs & Exams
One of the first things you should do is get your first job! You can do this by going to our University by entering
/university
in game.

We have three main categories of jobs:

# Trade - these are considered manual labour jobs with not many special perks.
#* They are good for beginners who want an easier starting off point. Many allow you to gather resources easier to sell or to craft into other items.
# Professions - these jobs build on trade jobs by having more advanced or special perks.
#* This could be specialised crafting recipes or plugin features.
# Government - you cannot get a government job immediately, but after around 24 hours of in-game playtime a lot of players apply for these jobs on our forums.
#* Government jobs will provide wages, and many also have additional commission based pay.

At any given time, you can have two trade jobs, one profession, and unlimited government jobs!

For more detailed information, check out individual job guides that interest you!

💷 Making Money
When you join StateCraft for the first time, you start with a solid £1200 to get you started. While it’s a great amount to start with, it won’t last forever in Alexandria. To keep earning money, you’ll need a skill or a job. Here’s how you can get started:

* University: Go to the university by using the command
/university
and get a qualification to become a true expert.
* Get a Job: Join our discord server and head to
#employment
and find yourself a suitable job offered by players.
* Make Money: Work on that job for a time and earn money!
* Government Jobs: After gaining experience, if you have the urge to serve the Government of Alexandria, you can apply for a position in one of the Executive Ministries.

If you like to be independent and prefer not to rely on companies or traditional jobs, you can setup your own Chest Shop where you can sell demanding items like food, armour, potions, firearms, vehicles, and more.

As a Mechanic, your job is to craft vehicles to sell to citizens. These vehicles can be crafted using various recipes at crafting tables.

What Mechanics do
Mechanics are trained to build vehicles for citizens. From working vehicles like drills and tractors, to the everyday car.

Crafting Parts
Mechanics create parts the same way any other player does: with a crafting table. You can check out each recipe by running
/recipes
and clicking on each part to view their recipe. You can also search `mechanic` to narrow down results.

Every vehicle will have at least 2 tyres and 1 engine which is essential to get the vehicle running. You'll also be responsible for crafting fuel for everyone's vehicles so that they continue running smoothly.

Passed the exam? What now?
After becoming a mechanic, it is recommended to purchase a plot and build a store or rent a shop to sell your products. You can find available plots for sale or lease on our Discord. Mechanics can also advertise their expertise in vehicles under #business-adverts.

To gather resources, you can either buy them from player shops or obtain them in the Outback. To access the Outback, type
/warp
, right-click a monitor in the airport.
